Why is happiness overrated?

Everyone wants to be happy. 


It’s such a simple concept, yet so complicated to achieve. 


But what does it really mean “to be happy”? To feel joy, excitement, euphoria, a sense of inner peace?

The problem with happiness

Happiness is unsustainable. It’s not you, it’s the reality of life.

Hi! My name is Sara Isakovic.

I’m an Olympic Silver Medalist (Swimming, 2008), European champion, and three-time champion of the NCAA Championship.


I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkley, and I have a master’s degree in Optimal Performance Psychology from the University of San Diego.


As a researcher, I’ve published scientific articles in neuroscience. I’m also an author, public speaker, and lecturer.


Within my passion for optimizing performance, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients – from Olympic athletes to business people – helping them achieve their personal goals within challenging working environments.

Fulfillment is the path of living a meaningful life, pursuing the things that are important to you and that you are passionate about.


While happiness is like infatuation (to like someone or something), fulfillment is like love. Although there are situations in which we don't always like our pets, children, or spouse, we always love them.


To feel fulfilled is to love your life, even when you don't like every aspect of it.

How to find fulfillment?

Instead of looking for happiness, look for a way to maintain a long-lasting sense of fulfillment
